"Mother Earth and Father Time" by Trance Fury (Electronica Artist from North Carolina(NC))

Get ready to hit the clubs when you hear "Mother Earth and Father Time" a recently released CD by Trance Fury. The pulsating rhythms and key synth melodies will no doubt put you in your Friday night dance mood. "Mother Earth" and "Painted Desert" are the selections that really get you moving, as they both feature some great beats and tranced-out bass hits. This album stands alone in the trance genre though as Trance Fury gives listeners a taste of some easy listening style numbers-that is if you can even call a trance CD easy listening. Songs like "Your Savior is Coming" and "Carolina Shore" are pulled way back on the tempo scale and also feature some saturated guitar tones. Although "Mother Earth and Father Time" isn't your average 70 minutes of raving trance CD, it is a great disc and will be loved by any fan of the genre.

"Note-ified" by Mike Ringler (Rock Artist from Florida(FL))

The sounds of the late 1960's psychedelic movement are still alive and well! Don't believe us? Well, just listen to "Note-ified" the latest release by Mike Ringler and you may reconsider your answer. The CD opens with that staple fuzz guitar tone on the song "You Can Shine," a track that also features vocal work very reminiscent of The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield. Ringler also delves into the British sounds made popular by The Beatles and The Hollies with songs such as "Hope" and "We Know You're Right." There is also an excellent guitar solo on "Words Through Time," which has a cool Moody Blues effect to it. All in all, "Note-ified" screams of "flower power" and is a great album for any fan of that wildly colorful era.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Boz with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Karma Knows..."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Boz with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Karma Knows..."

"Karma Knows..." is the adult contemporary solo debut from singer/songwriter Boz. Known throughout the music world as the frontman of progressive rock band Us, formerly known as The Chosen Few, Boz takes a different direction and delivers a positive, spiritual, and mature album. The arrangements and vocals are in the same vein as the career artists before him, including Peter Gabriel, Sting and Don Henley. The lyrics take on a variety of aspects of human life such as self-realization, lost love, and one's relationship with God. "Karma Knows..." is well-produced, sounds professional and is ready for radio play. "Reservation" has a unique arrangement with a great beat, nice vocals, and thoughtful lyrics. "Thank You (In So Many Ways)" is a piano-led song with soaring violins, a great vocal performance from Boz, and inspiring spiritual lyrics. Overall, "Karma Knows..." is an impressive solo debut from an experienced musician who has his sights set on taking his craft in an interesting new direction. Fans of Boz's career work and fans of modern adult contemporary are going to want to pick this one up.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Errol and Kaye Leslie with a GrIndie Award for the CD "I've Got Joy"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Errol and Kaye Leslie with a GrIndie Award for the CD "I've Got Joy"

Jamaica natives Errol and Kaye Leslie are at it again with their outstanding gospel reggae anthems on "I've Got Joy." Combining the southern gospel tradition with upbeat Caribbean rhythms and island beats, Errol and Kaye sing about the importance of Jesus in the world today in a very unique and uplifting way. The energizing arrangements and excellent vocal dynamics, with Errol's booming bass and Kaye's more gospel-oriented alto, take the serious lyrics and somehow turn them into songs that you want to put on a Hawaiian shirt and dance to. Go ahead and try lifting your hand to the sky and sadly wavering back and forth; it's impossible. "I've Got Joy" is well-recorded and the arrangements and vocals alike sound clean and professional. The title track, "I've Got Joy," is a song about the grace and love of Jesus and the joy that it brings and features Errol and Kaye's great vocal dynamics, rhyming lyrics, and a rhythmic horn, drum, and guitar arrangement. "Holy, Holy, Holy" appears to combine a more Caribbean version of Ace of Base's "I Saw the Sign" with the traditional hymn with a vocal performance led by Errol's booming voice. "I've Got Joy" is an excellent and unique album that makes worship fun and even danceable. Fans of gospel reggae or those searching for good music with a Christian message should definitely check out Errol and Kaye Leslie.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Tom Principato with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Raising the Roof!"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Tom Principato with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Raising the Roof!"

"Raising the Roof!" is an excellent, guitar-driven blues rock album with elements of funk, r&b, and New Orleans blues/jazz stylings from Tom Principato Band. Principato has been playing guitar for over forty years, and he shows his mastery of the instrument with unbelievable guitar work on every track. A few of the songs are instrumental, allowing Principato and his guitar to take center stage in bluesy jams accompanied by Hammond organ, great bass lines, drums, and occasional horns. Principato's vocals are reminiscent of the blues rock gods before him, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn, and his overall musicianship is just as incredible. His songwriting skills are also admirable, as he can write fun lyrics about creole queens and other New Orleans themes, or blues-oriented songs about lost love and lies. "Raising the Roof!" is well-recorded and has a clean and professional sound. "Lock and Key" introduces the album nicely with a New Orleans style track with great guitar work and horns. "Bo Bo's Groove" is a fun jam track with a great funk bass line, excellent guitar solos, and an overall grooving arrangement. Tom Principato and his backing band have delivered with astonishing guitar work, great blues jams, and a nice meshing of lyrics. Fans of blues rock, whether you've been listening to Principato for forty years or you just heard of him today, "Raising the Roof!" will not disappoint.

RadioIndy is pleased to present IFARI with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Shadow of a Dim Light"

IFARI's "Shadow of a Dim Light" is an upbeat roots reggae album filled with catchy tracks that inspire creativity and overall wellbeing. Currently residing in Florida but originally from Guyana, IFARI brings a refreshing, true reggae sound and great poetic songwriting to the States. "Shadow of a Dim Light" is filled with strong words and solid arrangements focused on both a great musical and spiritual experience. The album's production value is very good as well, and it sounds great, with all the instruments having equal representation in the mix. Highlights include the title track, "Shadow of a Dim Light," which kicks things off with a great hook and melody that reel you right in. "Wife and Pickney" brings an instant smile to your face with an uplifting progression and another great melody. "Congo" features a grooving bass line and nice percussive elements. "Shadow of a Dim Light" is an overall success that well-blends great musicianship with inspiring lyrics. If you are a fan of inspiring reggae that is true to it's roots, give IFARI a shot.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Darin Seldes with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Skippin' Stones"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Darin Seldes with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Skippin' Stones"

"Skippin' Stones" by Darin Seldes is a great funky jazz/reggae album that can be compared to Van Morrison, Blues Traveler and The Dave Matthews Band. The album features excellent arrangements highlighted by powerful horns and a fantastic rhythm section. That combined with wonderful song writing ability and fantastic production value really makes this album stand out both creatively and technically. The vibe is such that it makes it a great chill album to have in the background while you drive, work or just hang out with good friends. The stand out track happens to be the title track "Skipping Stones" which sounds exactly how you would imagine. A very relaxed, chilled out melody along with soothing vocals search inside and find the child within. "Something New" is the leadoff track and blasts you right into it with a big full arrangement that is worthy of an arena. "Take A Deep Breath" touches on the reggae side of things, with a slick sound and nice work in the rhythm section. This is a great album by a talented artist. A great blend of many genres is difficult to achieve and Darin Seldes succeeds.
