"Revolution Not a Revival" by Thomas McClary (Spiritual artist from Florida (FL))

"Revolution Not a Revival" by Thomas McClary is an upbeat pop album that exhibits a very diverse array of influences. The most prominent are gospel, R&B and urban. But this is certainly only the beginning with this very diverse album. There are subtle hints of Latin, house, blues, rock and electronica as well. Overall, the album is very well-produced and radio-ready. The arrangements are creative and filled with depth. The vocals are are tight with lots of layers and heavenly harmonies. Moreover, there is a very appealing, upbeat, and soulful vibe throughout the entire album. Highlights include "Put Em in Da Sky," which contains one of many great hooks, a club feel and great vocal performances all around. "I'll Serve You" is as smooth as silk and full of soul. "Yours for the Asking" is a definite sing-along with more great vocal performances. If you like Lionel Ritchie and Usher, this is one CD you do not want to miss.

“Recovery It was-It is” by Kenny K (Spiritual/Christian artist from Florida (FL))

"Recovery It was-It is" by Kenny K is a CD with meaningful lyrics and an tropical folk sound reminiscent of Jimmy Buffet. The lyrics are simple and heartfelt. Some tracks on "Live and Let Live" give the simple lesson that no man is truly alone, that there is always someone out there just like you. There is a spiritual message to those who have or are recovering from substance abuse. The folky tropical style with harmonica fills, gives an upbeat feel to the music. Some of the tracks on the CD are humorous and some are sad, but each is unique. "Whiskey Down The Drain" has a nice build to a strong chorus, and includes humorous lyrics and a traditional country sound. "Happy Joyous and Free" nicely combines serious lyrics with an upbeat tropical folk sound. "How She Cried" has a strong Johnny Cash feel to it, which works well with Kenny's vocals. If you enjoy tropical folk music of artists like Jimmy Buffet, or can relate to substance abuse recovery, this is an excellent CD to check out.

“Class Act” by Kasi Calvin (Country Artist from Florida(FL))

"Class Act" by Kasi Calvin is an emotional and raw mix of contemporary blues and rock tracks. Kasi's raspy vocal style, nicely complements his emotional, storyteller-type lyrics about his real life experiences. The CD gives a good variety of style and is versatile in lyrics and use of instruments. The guitar and vocal on "Ballad of Ms. Bates" gives a glimpse of forbidden love. The displaced message in "Too Tired To Drink" lets the listener touch the sadder side of life. There is a nice use of the cello and violin on the "Count To Three" that effectively complement Kasi's simple, sweet lyrics that give a contemporary look at love and family. If you enjoy emotional, raw singer-songwriter recordings, you'll enjoy this CD.

“Six Pointed Star” by Tania Shana Yegelwel (Spiritual Artist from Florida(FL))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Tania Shana Yegelwel with a GrIndie Award for their CD  "Six Pointed Star"

The "Six Pointed Star" CD-single by Tania Shana Yegelwel is a chilling and heart-wrenching song that pays tribute to the millions whose lives were taken during the Holocaust. Taking a very literal and straight-forward lyrical approach, this song proudly declares "I wear around my neck this six pointed star, for the six million, remember who they are." Musically, this single assumes an easy listening sound. Beautiful piano, string, and flute arrangements set to a backdrop of a native drum beat gives this song a very interesting edge that nicely accompanies Tania's strong vocals. Additionally, the background vocals are skillfully placed and add a very real sense of depth and emotion. To top things off, "Six Pointed Star" flaunts top notch production, making this song a very effective and professional tribute.

"Extra Credit" by Yoni (Alternative Artist from Fort Lauderdale, Florida(FL))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Yoni with a GrIndie Award for their CD "Extra Credit"

"Extra Credit" by the Florida based singer-songwriter Yoni is filled with honest lyrics, excellent guitar work, funky walking bass lines, and rhythms that keep the songs moving in the right way. The CD has already received some success with the song "Twentysomething," which has apparently been licensed by MTV, PBS, and The Oxygen Network. Yoni's lyrics are very relevant, especially for anyone in their twenties who is just getting out of college and thrown into the real world. Each song has a pop sensibility about it, yet so much substance. In addition to meaningul lyrics, Yoni's songwriting on the CD is filled with memorable melodies. Furthermore, the musicianship is top notch. From the upbeat driven Twentysomething, to the mellow "Consider This," to the jazzy "Morning" the CD shows Yoni's diversity in songwriting and musical style. The overall production on the album sounds great as well. Experience this fine work by a very talented artist. Pick up a copy today!
